Trading Terms & Conditions
We seek to act in the best interests of our clients at all times and offer the highest level of professional service, which will be conducted in accordance with the relevant professional and ethical standards issued by the Accounting Professional & Ethical Standards Board Limited (APESB).
Responsibilities
Information acquired by us in the course of this engagement is subject to strict confidentiality requirements. That information will not be disclosed by us to other parties except as required or allowed for by law, or with your express consent.
Clients are required to arrange for reasonable access by us to relevant individuals and documents and shall be responsible for both the completeness and accuracy of the information supplied to us.
Examples of items which may be required include original bank statements, invoices, receipts, trust deeds, previous tax returns and electronically collated data such as MYOB files etc.
The scope of the engagement is as set out below and any additions shall only be by agreement of both parties and evidenced in writing.
As you Tax Agents we will upon request:
Prepare your personal/business/trust return
Lodge your personal/business/trust return
Provide general taxation advice, including business tax advice on request
Act as your agent with the Australian Taxation Office for matters relating to your taxation affairs
Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG and other Statutory documents
Professional fees
All professional fees for the services provided to you will be based on the time and degree of skill to complete the tasks required, including out of pocket expenses and statutory charges, unless otherwise agreed by the parties. All fees are GST inclusive and subject to change. Annual inflation is estimated at 3% per annum.
Our fees: Tax Agent Fees $220 per hour
Administrative fees $110 per hour
We will provide an estimate of the cost of service. If the costs are likely to be significantly higher than originally estimated, we will provide you with an additional letter of engagement informing you of this and setting out the reasons for the likely increase.
Payments and Guarantees
Unless otherwise advised, terms of payment are strictly 14 days from the date of invoice. We will provide you with an itinerated account of all fees, costs and disbursements upon request. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you are providing your personal guarantee as Director/Trustee/business owner/operator/beneficiary that you will pay for services due to Plan to Prosper Pty Ltd.
Continuance of Work
In the interest of proactive and efficient accounting services we may continue with work for which have received enough data to do so. As such, if you no longer wish to use our services, please advise us at your earliest convenience. In the absence of a termination notice, we will continue to provide taxation and administrative services including, but not limited to; any and all dealings with the Australian Taxation Office, taxation queries and advice, bookkeeping services as required and preparation of financial statements. While the fees for these services are generally included in our annual invoice (issued at time of lodgement), please be advised that – in the event that you choose to discontinue our services prior to lodgement of your taxation return and financial statements– we will issue an invoice for services provided to the date we are advised of termination of our services.
Deduction of Fees from refund
If it has been agreed that the fees for service will be deducted from your refund you will be required to sign an additional form authorising Plan To Prosper to deposit the refund into the Trust Account. The refund, minus Plan to Prosper’s fee will be forwarded to you via EFT, in accordance with the Institute of Public Accountants requirements.
Documents
Before we lodge any necessary documentation on your behalf we will forward a draft of this documentation to you first for approval.
All documents obtained by the client raising from the engagement will remain the property of the client. However, we reserve the right to make a reasonable amount of copies for our records.
Any other documents created by Plan To Prosper including general journals, working papers, general ledger draft financial statements and/or tax returns remain the property of Plan To Prosper Pty Ltd. However, we will provide you copies of any documents upon request.
Responsibility for Accounting and Internal Control Systems
It is important to remember that you are personally liable for the information contained in any statutory return. You must retain all necessary supporting documentation to back up any claim. We will not take responsibility for any failure on your behalf to maintain adequate records or failure to provide all necessary details.
Please note that our preferred method of correspondence is email and ensure that our contact details are updated accordingly.
Quality Review
As a Member/Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) we are subject to periodic quality assurance reviews as well as an annual audit of the trust account. Unless otherwise advised by yourself, by engaging Plan To Prosper, you are consenting to your files being part of a such review.
We aim to provide the highest standard of professional service. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the level of service or have an issue to raise please feel free to contact Plan To Prosper to discuss how the problem can be resolved.
As a registered Tax Agent I/we are subject to the requirements set down by the Tax Agents Board and complaints may be lodged with them by calling 1300 362 829.
Previous Accountant
As a matter of professional courtesy, and in line with IPA requirements, we will inform your previous accountant that we have been engaged by you as your new accountant and request information regarding any outstanding matters.
By scheduling an appointment with Plan to Prosper you consent to the above terms and conditions.
